If the URL didn't give it away, my name's Louisa. I'm an author, illustrator, and an all-around 'creative type' based out of Brooklyn, NY.

A bit about me: I was born and raised in New York City, in the heart of the Lower West Side. After a childhood downtown, I hopped on the uptown local and headed to Lincoln Center, where I attended LaGuardia High School as a visual arts major. I was a miserable academic student, struggling with learning and focus challenges, but it was during my time at LaGuardia that I was able to explore new artistic interests and mediums, finding something I was “good at”. Continuing the trend, I earned a BFA at SUNY Purchase's Art and Design Conservatory, followed by an early career as a photo editor for print titles such as ELLE, Lucky, and InStyle. For the last 8 years, I've worked professionally as a Creative Lead for Instagram/Meta on both their in-house editorial and marketing teams.

In 2018, I became a mom, and then again in 2021. As a mom, I began exploring the influence of children's literature on my own personal creative journey. It was mind-blowing to rediscover books that shaped the way I look at the world. What a gift to re-immerse myself in visuals that feel truly etched in my mind, often subconsciously forming aesthetic principles and evoking visceral emotional reactions from memory. Unlocking this creative influence led me to my own explorations in children's lit, and through these explorations, my first fully-formed book, 'Welcome To Fuzz,' was born.
